Resident Assistant (2nd Shift) - Coatesville, PA

Facilitate the smooth day-to-day operations of the Transitional Residence in the absence of and as designated by the Staff Manager or Program Coordinator. Ensure safety of the residents through the implementation of Program's policies and procedures. Convey a positive, professional communication style when engaging in-person or on the phone with clients and the public.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct orientation and processing of all new in-coming residents
  • Enforce all resident rules and regulations
  • Monitory all visitors for appropriate behavior
  • Pick up and deliver mail on a daily basis
  • Make mandatory entry into the Daily Log Book a minimum of every two (2) hours
  • Complete all required incident reports, daily log entries and any other reporting as instructed
  • Answer all incoming phone calls and take messages as necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness of the outside walkways and steps
  • Periodically, conduct resident drug and alcohol testing
  • Assist with kitchen duties (Walker House only)

Qualifications and Skills

  • Available to work 2nd shift
  • Minimum of one year reception, in-take and/or client service experience
  • Experience working in a social services environment a plus
  • Good communication skills (professional demeanor on phone and in-person)

Case Manager (2nd Shift) - Coatesville, PA

 

The Case Managers will assist in developing and implementing the Individual Service Plan (ISP) which may include medical and mental health services, substance abuse recovery, personal safety, benefits, budgeting and job and housing counseling. The Case Manager works in conjunction with the Program Administrator, Job Developer and other appropriate staff to ensure the goals set are both practical and achievable.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops individual service plans on long term housing needs and assistance plan adherence with reviews and updates every 30 days
  • Places program discharges in community based or independent housing and assist with placement in personal care or nursing homes those veterans who require this housing need
  • Holds monthly community meetings addressing living arrangements and fostering consideration of "neighbors" to veteran residents
  • Provides case management with an initial comprehensive assessment and develop service plans and goals with monthly case management meetings for updates and to assess eligibility and assist in applying for SSI, SSDI, VA entitlements, benefits and pensions
  • Coordinates an active behavioral health treatment plan when appropriate
  • Provides educational presentations related to functional life skills, time management, anger management, communication skills, values clarification, budgeting, independent living and parenting skills

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, preferred
  • 1-5 years' experience working in a drug and alcohol recovery program environment
  • Knowledge of veteran benefits and entitlements a plus

Requirements:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the daily operation of The VMC Furniture Bank and Offer Up inventory as part of the VMC Thrift Store

  • Follows Department of Transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Ensures all customer personal information is kept secure and confidential.
  • Assists management in sorting appropriate merchandise for furniture bank use. 
  • Assists with organizing and sorting store merchandise.
  • Takes and posts pictures for the Offer Up application and updates inventory items daily.  
  • Responds to all Offer Up inquirers.
  • Communicates with case manager and client to verify furniture items chosen and sets delivery date.
  • Maintains a clean, healthy and well-maintained work environment.
  • Maintains all Furniture Bank and in-kind voucher paperwork and provides to management daily.
  • Ensure Furniture Bank Warehouse and truck supplies are kept at an adequate level and stored properly.
  • Fills in as needed for driver supervisor/drivers-navigators/clerk. 
  • Determines appropriate disposal methods for unsellable items.
  • Performs clean up, snow removal, leaf removal, and trash removal as needed.
  • Delivers and picks-up internal VMC documents.
  • Opens and closes store as needed.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs alone  and 100lbs or more with assistance.
  • Have a working knowledge of program policies and procedures
  • Complies with all policies of program
  • Supports organizational events and fundraisers.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned by management

OVERVIEW:

Responsible for the oversight of drivers/movers, all moves, pickups and cleanouts. This position involves occasional weekend (Saturday) and/or evening requirements. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows Department of Transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Adheres to a strict arrival and departure schedule as directed by management.
  • Ensures all customer’s information is kept secure and confidential.
  • Ensures drivers/movers have the proper documentation to record their daily logs.
  • Keeps ongoing communications with drivers/movers and store clerk.
  • Assigns vehicles and routes to scheduled drivers/movers.
  • Fills in as a driver/mover and/or store clerk when needed.
  • Ensures all customers are notified one day prior to delivery/pickup/move.
  • Ensures drivers/movers contact customers the morning of delivery/pickup/move.
  • Ensures drives/movers service vehicles and equipment before departure.
  • Trains all new drivers/movers in daily routine and safety measures.
  • Assists with organizing and sorting store merchandise.
  • Makes sure merchandise is safe and operational for resale.
