Our Legal Services Program connects low-income and homeless veterans with free, expedited legal support through a network of seven legal aid organizations across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey. As part of our holistic approach to housing stability, this program helps veterans overcome legal barriers that can stand in the way of secure housing and long-term success.

We’ve been nationally recognized, including by the National Coalition of Homeless Veterans, for our leadership in providing innovative legal services to veterans.

Through this program, veterans can access support for a wide range of legal needs, including:

  • Eviction prevention and housing stability services
  • Child support matters
  • Assistance with SSI and SSDI applications and claims
  • Landlord/tenant issues, including tenant rights, housing code violations, security deposits, and lease reviews
  • Outstanding warrants and court fees
  • VA benefits claims and representation
  • Driver’s license reinstatement
  • Criminal record expungement
  • Debt collection issues
  • Discharge upgrades

We partner with trusted legal organizations such as Veterans Law Center, Legal Aid of Southeastern PA, South Jersey Legal Services, Mid Penn Legal Services, North Penn Legal Services, Legal Services Corporation of Delaware and Community Legal Aid Society to ensure veterans receive high-quality legal support at no cost.

Legal services are available to participants enrolled in VMC’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. Please contact your case manager for more information and assistance with accessing services.
